Annie Bell Carter, age 87, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Greenville, MS. Annie lived a life marked by grace, resilience, and deep devotion to her family and faith in God. Her radiant smile and vibrant spirit lit up every room she entered. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. She accepted Christ as her savior at the age 11 and was a consistent member of Christian Light Baptist Church and served on the usher board until 2018. In 2019 she became a member of Mount Vernon MB Church under leader of Bishop Willie Joy.
Annie was known for her impeccable style, her love of red, and her warm heart. She was a woman of strength and wisdom, always ready with a kind word, a listening ear, or a story that made you laugh and think. Annie worked as a Home Health Aide by receiving her CNA certification in Greenville Mississippi. She graduated from Beauty College in Toledo, Ohio and became a license beautician. Her legacy is carried on through the lives she touched and the values she instilled.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Birthena and Henry Carter, her brothers, Earl Carter, Otha Lee Ornald, Henry Jr. Carter, and Luellen Carter, her sisters Glady Smith and Sally Mae Young, her husband of 25 years and father of her children, George Hair Sr. her infant daughter Georgia and her son, Roger Hair. Survived by her children, Patricia (Antonio) Garrett, George Hair Jr., Lubertha Ellis, Vera Hair, Bobbie (Jerry) Pam, Barbara (DeAngelo) Butler, Geneva Hair, Carolyn Hair-Jones, Debbie (Mel) Cauthen. Grandchildren, Marie Mitchell, Jerry (Amber) Ellis, Alonzo Garrett, Jeffery Jeremain Hair, Anne Hair, Cierra Jones, Jeremiah Hair, Jeremy (Patrice) Pam, Jairus (Kaitlin) Pam, Chiquita (Adrain) Simmons, Nicole Brown, Nicholas (Clarissa) Brown, Joshua Hair, Ruby (Sani) Muhammad, George Hair III, Christopher George Hair, Michael Hair, Christina Hair, Rachel Hair, Seth Hair, Asie Fields, Nedra (Terry) Pringle, Arsenio Burkett, Aaron Burkett, DeAndre Burkett, Antonio Burkett, Terry (Arielle) Piggs, Keith Johnson Jr., Victoria Lawrence and Yvonne Lawrence siblings, Melvin (Gwendolyn) Carter, Beluah Hair, Jimmy (Betty) Carter, Sister-n-law, Ruth Hair and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Her family will forever cherish the memories of her love, laughter, and unwavering support.
