Mrs. Barbara Jeanette Butler was born September 28, 1969, in Nashville, Tennessee. This peaceful life came to an end on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Barbara attended the public schools of Nashville, Davidson County. She was employed as a lunch lady for Metro Public Schools. Barbara also worked as a chef at several nursing homes.

Barbara had a love of working with kids through MDHA. She met her children’s father Milton Horton while working for MDHA. Barbara married Jerry Butler and later found love with Maxmillion Moore.

Barbara loved and adored her two children, Milton Horton and Milesha Horton. She loved and spoiled her granddaughter, Milasjia Horton. Barbara cherished her departed mother, Elain Ford and her late grandmother, Mollie Johnson who introduced her to God!

Barbara enjoyed cooking for work, family and friends. She had a love for cosmetology. She loved to play cards, shopping, cooking and partying. She loved helping her community anyway she could. She enjoyed traveling and visiting new places with her children.

Barbara was also into the latest fashion and hustling as a hobby. When her phone rang she was known for saying, “House of Beauty this is cutie how may I help you”.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Elaine Ford, and step-father, Charlie Ford.

Barbara Butler is survived by her loving children, Milton Horton, Milesha Horton, step-children, Jerry Butler, Jr., and Kennedy Comage, granddaughter, Milasjia “Lai Lai” Horton, devoted sisters, Pamela “Pam” Majors and Wendy Majors, brother, William Shield, Jr., nephews, Jerell and William, nieces, Jerrica, Jercora, Briana, Denisha, Brianca, great-nephew, Kiion “King” and great niece, Ja’Ziah “Ziah”, aunts, Dixie (Carl) Crawford and Leslie Johnson a host of cousins, friends and the New Freedom Church Family.
