Barbara Davis

Barbara Davis was born to the late Johnny and Alta Richardson on June 5, 1936 in Smyrna, TN. She departed this earthly life on September 13, 2021. Barbara was educated in the Smyrna Public School System. William and Barbara were married for many years and to this union five children were born. Barbara worked for Morrison’s Café, B & W Café, she then started working for the State of Tennessee many years until she retired. After retiring Barbara owned and ran her own business Barbara’s Boarding Home.


Granny Goose hobbies were: hosting family gatherings, cooking, playing cards, bowling, shopping, church, listening to blues music, and talking on her CB Radio better known as (Lady Shaft). Granny Goose would always answer the phone saying house of beauty this cutie. Granny Goose had a favorite sandwich a Whooper jr. with cheese with extra onions and she also loved ice-cream and banana pudding. She enjoyed that over and over again.

Granny Goose favorite word phrase: Home grown, Nappy-headed-buzzard, Pretty Eyes, (Us-a-see), You’re Just(retarded), Skippied-Be-a-Boo, You Blue Eyed Devil, Bucky-weeded, & Big butt, I got something for you(38),once was a fox & now I’m ox, you couldn’t hit me with a red apple(because I’m so beautiful ). Granny Goose would always say give me kiss and would ask are you going to stay a while or are you going to spend the night with me. She was truly loved and will be missed tremendously.

Barbara was a dedicated member of Foster Avenue Church of Christ; where she was actively involved. She was Kind, Caring and loving to all those she encountered. Her death leaves a void that can never be filled.
Barbara mourns the loss of her Siblings, her son: Michael(poke-n-Bean), grand- daughter; Tijuana-Shauni, Michael, Mitchel, Tameka, and devoted friends Ms. JoAnn and Ms. Mildred

She leaves to cherish her memory; devoted companion William R. Davis Sr. children, William R. Davis III (Zella), Larry (Diantha) Davis, Vickie (Richard) Davis. Victor (Yameena) Davis, Sheila (Mitchel) Green, Billy,(Linda) Crawford), Brenda Pride, Benjamin, (Angela) Davis, Peter (Jacquline) Davis. Grandchildren: Sherrece (Ronnie) Smith, Roderick Davis, Domashaun Davis, Michael (Adreianna) Garth, Latoya (Christiopher) Bell, Marcus Green, Jasmine (Derrick) Miller, L.J. (Jennifer) Davis, Maurice Davis, Jessica Davis, Ricco (Candis) Davis, Matthew Davis, Al’Kashus Dansby, and Zachary Davis, Benjamin Davis ,Kai Davis she also leaves 28 - Great Grand Children; 5 Great Great Grandchildren; Barbara (Granny Goose) had a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, Extended family and friends that called her granny goose and close friends. She had three life-long friends Ms. Josephine Miles, Ms. Mildred Wright, and Henry Hammer. Viewing Friday, September 24, 2021, 12-6, at fh. Visitation Saturday, September 25, 2021, 10-11 with funeral to follow at Trinity Lane Church of Christ. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
