Carl Pierre Davidson was born September 1, 1946, to the late Sam and Maxine Davidson in Nashville, Tennessee. Carl went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2025, at 7:02 p.m. He was also preceded in death by his brother Raymond Davidson and his eldest son Ricky Davidson.
Carl was educated in Nashville, Tennessee at Haynes Elementary and Haynes High School. He attended Kilmer Job Corps Center in Edison, NJ where he received a certificate of completion in Electrical Construction and later became a Licensed Electrician.
He was a Veteran of The United States Navy where he served his country faithfully and honorably and received numerous awards for outstanding performance.
Upon his return to Nashville, Tennessee, Carl was employed at TSU and later at Bridgestone/Firestone USA for 37 years, where he retired in November 2008. As a pastime interest he joined the Untouchable Social Club and enjoyed many years of community work, fellowship, and friendship. He also supported TSU Football as well as Youth Football. He was also active in the Haynes Alumni Association until his health failed.
Carl’s desire to have a Christ centered full life, he joined the St. James M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. George T. Brooks, Sr. He later united with First Baptist South Inglewood M. B. Church on January 3, 2022 – Rev. Napolean Harris, Pastor – New Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jonathan L. Williams. He enjoyed Sunday School tremendously and loved anything about studying the Word of God. He was a faithful member and supporter of WOW, Worship on Wednesdays.
Carl leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Delores H. Davidson of 43 years; two daughters, Henrine Wilkerson and Ulgrace Wilson (Willie, Sr.) and one son; Dwayne Davidson; Grandchildren: a devoted Granddaughter, Brianna A. Nelson, Andrew Davidson of Faber, VA; Craig Blackshear, Jr and Willie Wilson, Jr; Greatgrandchildren; his beloved great granddaughter, Kennedy G. Lewis, Ayva Davidson, Chase and Camryn Blackshear, and Jaxxon Wilson.
Three brothers, Winston (Juanita), Juan, Victor Davidson (Dallas, TX); one sister, Leah Davidson (Clarksville, TN); Two uncles, George Davidson, Nashville and Lermon Phelps of Orlando, FL; Sisters-in-law, Barbara Randolph, Kathryn Wright (Sam), Patricia Sweat. Brother-in-law, Rodell Woodruff (Pam), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
