Reverend Cecil Romell Turner was born July 17, 1943, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Reverend. Frank B. Turner and Jessie Myrtle Mitchell. This life came to an end on Friday Morning at his residence in Nashville Tennessee.
Cecil accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of First Baptist West Nashville where he preached for several years and later with Trotter Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Prospect. Tn. where he taught Sunday School and served along with his wife.
Cecil was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Schools. He was a 1962 graduate of Pearl High School. He later attended Tennessee State University where he played in the marching band.
He married the love of his life Norma J. Sherrell on January 20, 1988. This union blossomed into a love and friendship that culminated in the richest blessings for each of them.
Cecil was employed by Colonial Bakery for over 30 + years. He was blessed to retire and spend time with his lovely bride and his loving daughters and grandchildren, he was able to spend more time reading the word of God, walking, fishing, watching movies, sitting at the lake and park with his love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Frank B. Turner, and Jessie Myrtle Mitchell, brother, Vincent Turner, sister, Norma Jean Foster, sister-in-law, Velma Turner and his loving wife, Norma Sherell Turner.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving daughters, Felicia Turner Wilson, and Loretta F. Turner, grandchildren, Lorenzo Brown, Mykal Brown, Jessica Wilson, Courtney Jackson, brothers, William Earl Turner, Benjamin Turner, Anthony (Audrey) Washington, Jr., Joseph and Gary Mitchell, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends, brothers-in-law, Wendell Sherrell (Myrtle) and Rev. Paul Sherrell of Prospect, Tn., sister-in-law, Joyce Collier (Dwight) of Huntsville, Al. as well a host of other relatives and friends.
