Mr. Charles Evans Jackson, Jr, affectionately known as “CJ” was born August 25, 1989, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Lillie “JoJo” Turner-Jackson and Charles E. Jackson, Sr. He departed this life on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Charles accepted Christ in his life at an early and was a member of Hicks Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. CJ was matriculated through Metro-Davidson County Public and Private Schools during his primary, formative and adolescent years. years. He graduated from John Overton High School in 2008 and was later recruited by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Throughout his collegiate journey, CJ also had the opportunity to attend several other universities.
CJ had a brief stint in the National Football League, playing for both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Miami Dolphins. Afterward, he transitioned into the transportation and logistics industry, working for Aramark. In 2017, CJ became the proud owner and operator of LET Transportation Solutions. Over the years, he began contracting with Big E Transportation LLC, a subsidiary of Estes Logistics Transportation Solutions.
CJ had many talents, gifts, and hobbies. As we all know, CJ was a gifted athlete. He was not only a record-breaking running back but also a baseball player in his childhood and an exceptional track runner. He loved to remind everyone that he ran a 4.37! CJ enjoyed outdoor activities with his father and was secretly exceptional at drawing. He had a passion for car accessories, especially rims and sound systems. Additionally, he was an avid gun collector. And, of course, we can't forget about Blu-Rose! CJ loved his bike and enjoyed spending time with the motorcycle community.
Those left to cherish his memories are wife, Terrica Davis, Barbara Smith-Mother-in-law) Thomas Davis and James Kelly-Fathers-in-law, Sabrina "Briebye" Jackson -sister, Terrance Lamont Lewis- Brother Pisces Sevron Shelton (Preceded in death) – Brother, Zachary Davis "Gina Davis"- Brother-in-law, Angela Huey "David Huey (Preceded in death)" , -Sister-in-law, Brooke Kelly -Sister- in-law, A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, and cousins. Far too many to name, but he loved all.
CJ never met a stranger and was loved and adored by countless people. His circle of friends was vast, extending far beyond the ordinary, as he had a unique ability to connect with everyone he encountered. CJ's warmth, charisma, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. While it would be impossible to name every friend he held dear, it's clear that each one meant the world to him. His friendships were deep, and he cherished the bonds he created with people from all walks of life. CJ's impact will be felt for years to come through the memories and love he shared with so many.
