Charles Kinnard Jr.

Charles Kinnard Jr. was born on January 8, 1935 to the parents of Mary E. Jordan and Charles Kinnard in Nashville, Tennessee. He departed this earthly life and gained his wings on July 3, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Charles professed his belief in Christ at an early age and united with Bass Street Baptist Church. He is a graduate of the Class of 1953 from Father Ryan High School. Soon after high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in June 1953 until he retired honorably after 21 years of service in July 1978. He retired again after a 20-year career in construction.

Charles loved his family and especially his beloved wife of 62 years, Marva C. Kinnard. He was a collector of music. He was an avid sports fan. He loved basketball, softball, and baseball the most.

He leaves to cherish his dedicated and loving wife, Marva C. Kinnard; children, Sharon R. Kinnard (deceased) , Mary E. Underwood, Ronnie Kinnard, Pamela Kinnard, David Kinnard, Carolyn Kinnard; grandchildren, Kenyatta, Robert, Lavonte, Shannon Sorrels, April Kinnard, Jordan Sorrels, David Kinnard, Tristian Kinnard, Cecelia Underwood, Omarion Campbell; special family friend, Anthony Gatewood, Maxime Rucker, Ernie Smith; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
