Mr. Charles Edward Morris Sr was born on February 27, 1958, in Paris Island, South Carolina to Bennie Hickman and Curtis Morris Sr. He departed this productive life on Monday, May 5, 2025, at his residence in Nashville, Tennessee after an extended illness. He was the last of the four children born. Edward (as he was fondly called by family) was educated in the Nashville School System. He attended Meigs High School where he was a gifted athlete in sports.
Edward was married to Denise Griffin for some time. He was employed in the construction field. He later relocated to New York where he trained to become a Security Officer for NYPD.
After he returned to Nashville he was blessed with his two children, Chinquetta and Charles “CJ” Morris, II. He continued his work in the construction field and moved to Knoxville where he was part of the construction of the World Fair.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Curtis Morris Sr., and his son Edward Taj Ledford.
He leaves to cherish his memories, children, Chinquetta E. Morris, Charles (Trease) Morris II, Jasmine Hart and Jada (Gillian) Hart. grandchildren, Aijalon, Marcellas, Mackaia, Zaccealond, Charnesia, Ronae’ Harding, Charell, DeMalachi, Emeera Kinshasa, Sincere, Amari, and Ameenah, great grandchildren, Ma’Kai, Zermarion, Zermaria and Aijalon II., sisters, Delores Elliott, Paula Mercer, brother, Curtis Morris., aunt, Dorothy Boleyjack. 2 nieces and 3 nephews. Brothers-in-law, M C Mercer and Clayborn L. Griffin, special friends, Kim Hart, McGhee, and Torrie as well as a host of other family and friends.
