Charlie Robert Talley

Mr. Charlie Robert Talley was born March 9, 1954, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Samuel Emanuel Talley and Nellie Mildred Edmondson Talley. This productive life came to an end on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Charlie accepted Christ in his life at an early age and was baptized in the Church of Christ. He was a member of Belltown Church of Christ.

Charlie was educated in Cheatham County Schools and was a 1974 graduate of Cheatham County High School in Ashland City, Tennessee.

Thirty-Three years ago, Charlie said “I do to the love of his life Mary Ann Lewis. This union has weathered many storms and has been a strong example of true love for their family.

Charlie always exemplified a good work image. He was employed several entities to include State Stove, LC Collier Concrete, D&A Concrete, Rocks Concrete and was self-employed as a Contractor.

When he was not working you could find him hunting, fishing, cooking his famous Turnip Greens and chitterlings or playing taxi. Poppie as he was loving called by his grandchildren shared a special bond with each of his grandkids!!! He loved being around his family and friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Nellie Talley, grandson, Tra’Vomn Lewis, brother, James Talley, sisters, Ella Lee Talley, and Mary Foster.

Those left to celebrate his love and memories are his loving wife, Mary Ann Talley, daughter, Tanya Lewis-Thompson, sons, Shane Talley (Kari), and Emmanuel Talley, grandchildren, Shaniya Lewis, Gitano Reese, Randie Rollins, Nati’cell Rollins, Aniya Talley, Nation England, Nikko Talley, Em’ary Talley, sisters, Sallie Shelton, Nancy (Ricky) Boyce, Marilyn Bell, brothers, Dale (Mildred) Talley, and Harold Newsom, brother-in-law, Charles Foster, sisters-in-law, Eunice Burt and Frances (Calvin) Chatman a host of other relatives and friends.
