Cheryl Yvette Cole-Woodard

May 28, 1956 — September 18, 2023

Born to the late O’Neal Johnson and Ethel Cole, Cheryl departed this life peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2023, after a long battle with Dementia.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, daughter Christie Woodard, grandsons Zackery and Zaquan King, and grand pups Joy Woodard and Giovanni Cole-Fields.

Originally, Cheryl was educated in Public Schools but later obtained her GED. She received a Certificate of Completion in Business from Mason School of Business. Cheryl professed a faith in Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. Over the years Cheryl joined Braden UMC, Nancy Webb Kelly UMC in Nashville, TN., and Rose of Sharon Church in Burlison, TN. Her current membership was with Hillcrest Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Nashville, TN.

Cheryl held various Secretary positions but her most recent employment was with Rose of Sharon Campground where she supervised women who were given a second chance at life. She was passionate about helping them walk in their purpose. She loved and nurtured them unconditionally.

Cheryl’s favorite hobby was being in the presence of the Lord, worshipping and adoring him. She loved dancing and “bragging” on her children, grandchildren, favorite cousin Debra and spending time with family.

Cheryl wore many hats as “Mrs. Cheryl” “Mama Cheryl” or “Granny.” She was known to sit in the front of the church and be the loudest worshipper-unapologetically! You never heard her raise her voice or use foul language. She had a servant heart and touched many people with her caring spirit.

Take your rest now, good, and faithful servant. Job well done!

She leaves to cherish her memories and continue her legacy: Son: Dylan Woodard, Daughters: Rev. Toi King, Margie (Kendall) Winston, & Jacqueline (Danny) Blair, Grandchildren: Destani (Milton) Cole-Fields, Tamara Woodard, DaMario Woodard, Corneshia Woodard, Kendarius Woodard, LaDarius Palmer, Christopher (Jordan) Pitts, Dynasti King, Kendall Winston, Zackeius King, Nemani Braden, Dakota Woodard, Kennedy Winston, Jeremiah Woodard, Elijah Hall, Alissa Mayes, Ta’leyah Woodard, Dniya Woodard, and Amari Woodard, Grand Pup: Nitro Blair, Great-Grandchildren: Rhymes, Lyric, Rhythm, and Psalms Frazier, Carter-Jai Holmes, Myriana Woodard, Jazette Woodard, Kamryn Woodard, Taleel, Jr. and Z’aire Green, Devoted Cousins: Debra (Gerald) Waters, Tracee (Abdul) Gaddy-Odom, Adayse Gaddy, Lillian Spencer, and Donzala Greer, Devoted Friends: Pastor and Norma Rose and Family, Sister Paula, Melanie Monroe, Mary Jane and Willie Mae Wilkins and Family, Stephanie Hammonds and Family, and Doris Saddler and Family, and a Host of Cousins, Family, and Friends.
