Clarence L. Tucker, Jr.

Dec 5, 1946 — May 20, 2026

With profound love, gratitude, and deep respect for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Clarence Lee Tucker Jr., who peacefully transitioned on May 20, 2026.

Clarence was born on December 5, 1946, in Pennsylvania, to the late Clarence Tucker and Elizabeth Tucker. As the first of five children, he was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he grew into a man known for his strength, determination, wisdom, and heart for others.

Clarence answered the call to serve his country by entering the United States Navy on March 16, 1967, beginning a distinguished military career that would ultimately span approximately 24 years. Through unwavering dedication, discipline, and excellence, he earned the respected rank of Mess Specialist Chief (MSCS), United States Navy, serving proudly as an E-7 Chief Petty Officer.

Throughout his years of service, Clarence specialized in food service management and leadership, taking great pride in serving and caring for others. He supervised large-scale operations and led teams with honor, integrity, and professionalism. His work touched countless lives, and his dedication to excellence earned him the respect and admiration of those who served alongside him. Clarence believed in growth, leadership, and lifelong learning, completing numerous educational and leadership programs throughout his military career while mentoring and encouraging many along the way.

Following his retirement from military service, Clarence continued sharing his talents through his passion for culinary arts and hospitality. He worked at Cascades Restaurant at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, where he continued to display the same commitment, pride, and spirit of service that had guided him throughout his military career.

Never one to stop dreaming or creating opportunities, Clarence later embarked upon opening an alkaline water store in Hendersonville, Tennessee, reflecting his entrepreneurial spirit and his desire to help others improve their lives and well-being.

Beyond his accomplishments, Clarence was far more than his titles and achievements. He was a father, brother, grandfather, mentor, and friend. He was a man of strength and wisdom, a man who understood sacrifice and dedication, and someone whose presence carried quiet power and love. His life was built on service--not only to his country but also to his family and community.

Clarence was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clarence Tucker and Elizabeth Tucker, and by his brothers Kenneth Tucker, Gregory Tucker, and Brian Tucker.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his beloved sister, Doris Tucker of Columbus, Ohio; his loving children: Clarence Lee Tucker III of Los Angeles, California, Don "Tony" Keyes Sr. of Charleston, South Carolina, Darrell Tucker and wife, Stephanie Tucker, of Nashville, Tennessee, Craig "Aloysius" Keyes of Atlanta, Georgia Venus "Lulu" Keyes of Charleston, South Carolina, April Clarice "Pooh" Tucker-Velvet of Jacksonville, Florida, He also leaves behind 14 cherished grandchildren and 7 treasured great-grandchildren, Vebreena Johnson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his wisdom, kindness, strength, and love.

Although our hearts grieve his physical absence, we find comfort in knowing that a life filled with purpose, service, and love never truly ends. Clarence leaves behind a legacy of honor, resilience, strength, and devotion that will continue through generations to come.
