Clodie Gladney, Jr. was born in Columbus, Georgia on March 19, 1944 to Mary and Clodie Gladney, Sr. Clodie grew up in Medon, TN as the oldest of 13 children born from their union and was a 1963 graduate of West High School in Denmark, TN.
Clodie joined the United States Army after graduating high school where he served his country as a member of the United States Army. In the early years of Clodie’s career, he was an Army Ranger Paratrooper where he served three tours fighting in The Vietnam War. After the war, Clodie continued to matriculate through the Army ranks serving at several posts including, but not limited to, Italy, Korea, Germany, and several U.S. Military Installations. Clodie was a dedicated military professional for 28 years, eventually retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant.
On September 27, 2021, God embraced Mr. Clodie Gladney, Jr. in His arms and enfolded him in His love. He departed this life at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife LeAndra Gladney. His children; Valerie Gladney, Carol White, Derick (Mia) Gladney, Dexter (Nicole) Gladney, Clodie Kuan Gladney III, Lawon Gladney, Kurelle Gladney, Michael McCall and Dasani McCall. His siblings; Eddie (Jennett) Gladney, Willie Gladney, Dennis Gladney, Donnie (Vanessa) Gladney, Danny Gladney, Gary Gladney, Eric Gladney, Beverly Gladney, and Deloise Graham. Additionally, Clodie leaves grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Eloice Gladney, his parents Mary and Clodie Gladney, Sr., two brothers; Charles Leonard Gladney and Michael Fitzgerald Gladney and two sisters: Patricia Diane Gladney and Cassandra Denise Gladney. Viewing Thursday, October 7, 2021, 1-6 at fh. funereal Friday 12noon at funeral home. Interment Middle Tn. State Veterans Cemetery
