Danny Ray Lunsford, Sr.

August 8, 1955 — August 5, 2021

Danny Ray Lunsford Sr. departed this earthly life to enter his eternal rest, after a long-extended illness, on August 5, 2021. Danny was the 7th of 11 children born to the late Mr. Henry Lunsford Jr. and Mrs. Willia Dean Payne Lunsford, of Springfield Tn. He resided in Nashville most of his life. Danny was dedicated to the strong belief that loving God, family and others is the utmost service.
Danny was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools System. He enlisted and served in the U.S Navy. He was employed for many years with the Metropolitan Nashville Public Housing Authority. Danny loved family, football, and old school music. His favorite football teams were the UT Vols and the Tennessee Titans.
Danny was proceeded in death by his parents Henry & Willia Dean Lunsford, and two sisters, Joyce Ann Watson, Gwendolyn Kay kirk, and 3 siblings that died as infants.
Danny leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Danny Ray Lunsford Jr (Cosha), Timothy Lamont Lunsford (Konasha) & Conesha Dodson (Jeremy), 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. 1 brother, Mr. Harold Dean Lunsford, 5 devoted sisters: Minister Mildred Richardson(cousin/sister) Dr. Ramonia Greene (Henry), Darlene Hodge (Will), Dr. Gayla Lloyd, and Mrs. Vetina Oliveira (Johnson). A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and friends.

A special thanks to the medical staff at the VA of Murfreesboro, TN, and Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, along with devoted family members and caretakers, Darlene Hodge, Vetina Oliveira, Shawn Trotter, & Nikki Walker.

Visitation Thursday, August 12, 2021, 11-12 with funeral to follow at funeral home.
