Deverra Collins

God Saw the Road was getting rough, and the Hills were hard to climb so He gently closed her eyes and whispered peace be thine.

Deverra Dietta Collins was born February 4, 1971, to Iva Collins, Robert Garrett.

Deverra accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Livingstone Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie T. Mitchell.

In her youth she served in the Pebble Choir and the Teen Usher Board, before serving as a member of the Adult Usher Board. Currently she served as an usher at Second Missionary Baptist Church under Bishop C.C. Barlow, Jr. She was always a willing worker.

She was employed as a health care worker for 20 plus years. Deverra was a good cook and a jokester, she also enjoyed going to bingo but mostly she adored her children, grandchildren, friends and church members.

Deverra completed her final passage of life to ascend to the peaceful shores of eternity on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024, at Centennial Medical Center.

Deverra was preceded in death by her father, Robert Garrett, grandmother, Sarah (John) Elliot, grandfather, Walter Collins, Sr., uncle, Walter Collins, Jr.., brothers, Damion and Aundree Collins and grandson, Master Marque.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving mother, Iva Garrett, brother, Johntonn Collins, children, Clarinda and Kiara Collins, son, Marque Collins, grandchildren, Chrishaun, Christian, Casey, Camiyah, Cameron, Marqua’a, Kapriya, K’yomi, Kenaiah, great-grandchildren, Calileana, Caitlyn Collins, devoted friends, Brenda Gordon, Antoinette Butler, Teresa, Denetria Perry and Debbie Bingo Cree, special friend, Ronnie Vaughn Linda Coffee, Second Missionary Usher Board, also a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
