Dontay Talley-Mathis

Dontay Talley Mathis was born October 8, 1974 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of William and Bonnie Talley. She departed this sweet and fruitful life on Monday, March 13, 2023. Dontay accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She received her education in the Nashville Davidson County Public School System graduating from Maplewood Comprehensive High School and later receiving her Bachelors and Master's Degrees in Education from MTSU and her Education Specialist Degree from Union University.

Dontay married the love of her life Michael Mathis on October 25, 2003. She was employed as an educator with Metro for 25 years currently at Thomas Edison.

In her spare time she enjoyed shopping, playing spades, goin to the casino and traveling with family. She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life her husband, Michael Mathis, children, Dionte Talley and Mikayla Mathis, siblings,   Antilisa King, Paul Martin, Tenia Coker and Brianna Talley, close friends, LaShonda Brigham, Tressa Green and Katrina Lee. A host of other relatives and friends.
