Doris Alberta Jackson was born March 16, 1961 in Paris, Tennessee to the union of Roosevelt Jackson and Suezette Stubblefield Jackson. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at West Tennessee Medical Center in Jackson, Tennessee.
Doris accepted Christ at a young age and was a baptized at Western Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Buchanan, Tennessee, where she grew up singing in the choir with her siblings and cousins.
Doris was educated in the Henry County Public Schools. She was a graduate of Henry County High School in Paris, Tn. She continued her education by attending Memphis State University receiving a scholarship to play basketball. She later enrolled in Paris Vocational School in the Cosmetology program and received her license. Doris was employed as a beautician by Walmart Supercenter.
In her younger years, she loved playing basketball. She loved people, crossword puzzles, and spending time with friends and family, especially her daughters and grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother, Suezette Bolden, father, Roosevelt Jackson, “Pops” Thomas A. Bolden, and brothers, Corey Bolden and Vincent Bolden.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her daughters, Micaela RaeShawn Jackson, Brittany Ciara Jackson, sisters, Sherry (Fred) Porter, Stacey (Adrian) Humphreys, her brother, Gerald Ovette Jackson, grandchildren, Tavarius, Jathan, Gabriella, Davian, Josiah, Bryson, and Avion, her best friends, Lola Mae Teague, Benetta Olds, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.
