Ms. Doris J. Blackburn-Williams was born September 7, 1943, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the union of Ozie L. Thomas and Henry F. Blackburn. Doris answered the call to go home and be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Trevecca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was educated in the Tuscaloosa Public Schools, graduating High School in 1961.
Doris relocated to Nashville, and united with Lake Providence Baptist Church where she continued her membership until her health began to fail.
Doris was employed for many years with Baptist Hospital in the housekeeping department. She was blessed to retire from this employment to enjoy some of the fruits of her labor.
After retirement she spent time doing some of the things she enjoyed which included cooking, shopping and Sunday Family dinners with her sisters.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Ozie Thomas and Henry Blackburn.
Those left to celebrate her life are her loving daughters, Felita B. Lee, Renita Blackburn, Springfield, Tn., sisters, Julia M. Latham Clarksville, Tn. and Danita Thomas, Goodlettsville, Tn. 5 grandchildren, Andre D. Blackburn (Christal) Atlanta, Ga., Alysia Blackburn (Jhnell), Springfield, Tn. Lorenzo Miller, Murfreesboro, Tn. Brittney Reames, Nashville, and Quincy M. Blackburn, Springfield, Tn. 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, dear friend, Verbie A. Spencer other relatives and many friends.
