Dorothy Louise Moore-Banks

February 26, 1951 — May 31, 2024

Dorothy Louise Moore-Banks, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, loyal friend to many left to be with our Heavenly Father on May 31, 2024 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Mitchell Moore and Hattie B. Rankins.

  Christ became the center of her joy at an early age and she united with Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.  

Dorothy graduated from McGavock High School, class of 1972.  She had a passion for caring for others and chose to seek a position in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Windsor House and Crestview Health Facilities. Sometime later she sought employment in the grandmother program at Fannie Battle Daycare/School as this fulfilled her passion.  

Dorothy's hobbies were shopping, cooking, dancing, and watching western movies. She was a comedian always had a joke for family, and was the life of the party.  She was loved by all.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Mitchell Moore and Hattie B. Rankins, her husband, Charles Banks, daughter Rochelle Moore; sister Beatrice Moore-Clark; brother Robert Moore; brother-in-law, Richard Hudson.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her children Mary Moore, Cecilia Moore; sister Mary Hudson, Jewel Moore-Barbee (Tony); grandchildren Darchelle Moore, Ebony Savely, Quinrontes Clark, Quinteria Clark; great grandchildren Da’Myka Moore, Samiah Moore, Millie Moore, Jazire Moore, Alani Moore, Taylin Sawyers;  nieces, nephews (Micky) Robert Moore, Troy Moore, Darryl Moore, Darren Moore, Richard Hudson, Jr , Hattie (Tiny) Dartis Moore, Jewel Spears, Renay Spears;  dear friends Helen Miller, Janice Gordon, Yvonne Corlew, Wayne Hannah, Paul Robinson; a host of other loving family and friends.
