Duane Douglas Cox age 53 of Paris, Tennessee passed away June 7, 2023 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born June 25, 1969 at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California to the parents, Hugh Douglas Cox and Ruth Yvonne Teague Cox.
Duane was educated in the Henry County Schools and was a 1987 graduate of Henry Co. High School and at 1992 graduate of Austin Peay State University. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Progressive Baptist Church.
Duane was employed as manager of Lowe’s, Hobby Lobby, Party City, Dollar General, and Kitchen Manager of McDonald’s. until his health begin to fail. He was a diehard Alabama Crimson Tide Fan and University of North Carolina Tarheels Basketball Fan. Duane also loved, to sing one song in particular, “Ave Maria”.
Duane was preceded in death by both parents, paternal grandparents, Charlie Herman and Sarah Frances Vandyke Cox, maternal grandparents, Samuel and Orangie Tharpe Teague, and nephew, Kyle Grayson Jones.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories sisters, Jocelyn Clarisse Cox-Jones and Daphne (George) Combs, brother, Chad Andre’ (Amanda) Cox all of Paris, Tn., nieces, Kelani Jones, Khadijah Combs, Hayley Cox Runyan, Emily Wolfer, nephews, Tristen Cox, Michael Watts, Skyler Wolfer, great nieces, Emilee Combs, Nova Jean Watts, great nephews, Aiden Jones, Flamar Grayson Jones, cousins, Pierre Bobo, Rory Ray, God-sister, Kiawaana Smith-Harrington, God-son, Javon Hartzfeldt, special friends, Grad and Patty Wright, Rob and Angie Bowser, Bret Fincher, Joel Walker, Tommy Crossland, Victor Johnson, Eddie Sanders, a host of other relatives and special friends.
