“Trust in the Lord with all thy heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
Earline Floyd-Dotye, affectionately known as Bitty, was born the third of eight children on August 13, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the union of George Lee Sr. and Pearl Esther Floyd. She departed this earthly life on August 27, 2025, at Gallatin Healing and Rehabilitation Center in Gallatin, Tennessee.
She was educated in the Nashville Public School System and proudly graduated from Cameron High School, Class of 1962. Throughout life, she remained a faithful and dedicated alumna and cherished lifelong friendships formed during those years.
A devoted servant of the Lord, Earline was a longtime and faithful member of Greater Bethel AME Church, where she actively worshipped, served on the Usher Board #2, and lived out a strong Christian faith. Known for her fun-loving spirit, warm smile, and the ability to bring joy to any gathering. She touched many lives with kindness and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, George Lee and Pearl Esther Floyd; brothers, George Lee Jr. and Jessie Floyd; and sister, Emma JoAnn Berry.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are two daughters: Leadra (Rickey) Jones and Larissa Smith; devoted sisters, Nancy (Harry) Collier, Queen Floyd, Gloria (Dennis) Jackson, and Virgie Stokes; devoted brother, Ephraim Floyd; devoted nephews, Kenelm and Kenyon Floyd; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many caring friends who will remember the joy, love, and faith she brought into their lives.
Though Earline’s earthly journey has ended, the legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
