Eugene Gross

January 27, 1947 — August 26, 2024

Eugene Gross a native of Nashville, TN was born to the late Eugene Williams and Anna Ruth Gross on January 27, 1947. He was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. At the time of his passing, he was retired from Pepsi Cola where he was a hard worker for over thirty plus years.

Eugene gave his life over to Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Nashville Inner City Church of Christ. He loved attending church events, but his favorite events were the Senior Saints Annual Thanksgiving dinner, Homecoming, and the Fall Festival.

He was better known as Sonny or Big Red. He always kept a smile on his face, had a big heart and loved talking and spending time with family and friends. He was part of Tusculum Strike and Spare bowling league on Monday’s and on the week before he passed, he went out with a BANG, bowling his highest game ever! On other days during the week, you could catch him enjoying old tv shows, movies, watching sports, cooking, or helping others.

Eugene and his wife had an evening routine of studying the Bible and after their devotional, they would play cards, and he would eat some of his favorite sweets. He loved sweets! Especially banana pudding. He will truly be missed.

Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Williams; mother, Anna Ruth Gross; late wife, Clara Mai Hill-Gross; sons, Edward Gross and Wendell Hill; brother, Joey Anthony Williams; sisters, Linda and Darlene Gross and Patricia Sangster; and brother-in-law, David Shaw.
