Evelyn Delorse Sweatt better known as “Puttin” took her wings and flew to meet her maker on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born to the Eddie and Gertrude Sweatt, on March 1, 1943 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, and foster mother, Ola Sherrill.
Evelyn was baptized at the age of 14, by the late Rev. T.M. Grooms at Foster Chapel Baptist Church. In later years, she joined the New Faith Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, leading her favorite song, “Lift the Savior Up”.
Evelyn graduated from Cameron High School in 1961 and retired from the Tennessee Department of Corrections as a Store Keeper.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories, devoted daughter Kelon Sweatt, devoted granddaughter, loving sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” Sweatt, a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, cousins, God children, Mena Beard, Zaea Smith, Janna Springer, lifelong friend, Lola Coats and children, and her New Faith Church Family.
