My prayers are with the Pickett family. I met Ms. Flo 15 years ago while teaching Trey at Dalewood Middle School. She always had a beautiful smile and sweet spirit. I am forever grateful to her for allowing me to be in life Trey's over the years. God is...

To the Pickett Family:
We take this time to express our personal condolences to the family of Florence Pickett. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends during this time of great sadness. Please remember that Florence and others who have died are in God's memory. He never forgets those who were a part of His earthly family. He loves us so much that He directs this loving promise so that we may gain true comfort from it. The promise is recorded at John 5:28-29. In the verses God tells us that He would soon use His great powers to call to those who have died, to stand up in life again. Yes life will be restored back to a great host of people. This arrangement will be possible because God is the source of life for all created things. Even if a person dies, God has the power and the desire to restore that person back to life. (Psalm 36:9) And to help all to develop strong faith in this future blessing, God has taken the time to preserve nine accounts in the Bible that speaks about this grand blessing that is ever so near at hand. Here is just one such example that is recorded at Acts 9:36-42. I hope that all will get a chance to see how these verses apply to Florence, and a great host of others who await their personal awakening from their deep sleep of death. So we encourage all to please keep this promise of God near your hearts at all times. Remember that when God makes a promise, it becomes reality. For it is impossible for God to lie. (Titus 1:2)
