Mrs. Georgia Mae Rice Shannon was born February 13, 1949, in Gallatin, Tennessee to the parents, George Garrett and Mary Rice. This beautiful life came to an end on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Tristar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Georgia accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized in a watery grave. She was currently a member of Scott Ave. Church of Christ.
Georgia attended Gallatin High School and was a graduate of Draughn’s Business College.
She married William Shannon on May 26, 1985. He preceded her in death. Georgia had a heart of compassion. This lead her to her occupation of working with disabled clients at Clover Bottom for over 45 years until her retirement.
Georgia enjoyed traveling, shopping and she loved shoes. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents, Mary Rice and George Garrett, Mildred Cantrell and Louis Rice.
Those left to cherish her memories are daughters, Yvette Shannon and Yvon Shannon, grandchildren, Tim Shannon and Brittnay Shannon, siblings, Robert Rice, Louis Rice, James Rice, Sammy Rice, Mildred Cantrell and Clara Dalton, sisters-in-law, Barbara Rice, Sylvia Spann, Kathy Rice and Gwen Rice, nieces, Tre’na Rice, Na’cole Robb, Mary Turner and April Rice, nephews, Larry Cantrell, Markell Rice, Tony Turner, Louis Turner, Sammy Rice, Petrie Rice, Robert Dalton, Maurice Rice, great nieces and nephews, Kerra Rice, Darisha Rice, Cherrie Anderson, Secrete Wilson, Ki’Azia Porter, Sydney Rice, Marquice Rice, Cortez Rice, Benjamin Anderson, Eric Turner and Mario, niece-in-law, Cauline Cantrell, great-great nieces and nephews, Erica Turner, Xyiondria Robb, Kalondria Rice, Kalona Rice, Kaleigha Rice, Azzarya Black, Arianna Black, Robin Dalton, Keziah Rice, Ariyah RiceKhloe Turner, Daylan Turner, Amir Turner, Eric Turner, Luke Cantrell, Clay Cantrell, Tavion Anderson, Kingston Rice, Zachriah Rice, N’hmyah Black, Robert, III, Sky Rice, Desia Rice, Jasmine Rice, McKenzie Rice, Petrie Rice, Petrieana Rice, Xyionerdria Robb and Cion Robb, friends, Ralph Chafen and Alice.
