If you ever had the pleasure of being in the same room as Glenesha “Nesha” Moye, you knew it instantly—she was the undisputed life of every party, a beacon of pure joy, and someone who loved with her whole heart. On the early morning of July 22, 2026, Nesha took her rest at the age of 52, leaving behind a legacy as bright, warm, and generous as she was.

A Bright Beginning in Music and Faith

Nesha’s story began on September 28, 1973, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born to Dorothy Ann Bowling Shook and Glen Wayne Hobson. From the very beginning, she brought light and energy into the lives of those around her. Raised with a strong foundation of faith, she accepted Christ at an early age at First Street Missionary Baptist Church, where she joyfully lifted her voice in the choir. Later in life, she became a faithful and devoted member of The Temple Church, where she continued to serve the Lord with the same unwavering heart.

The TSU Days & Finding Her Soulmate

A proud graduate of Stratford High School, Class of 1992, Nesha continued her education at Tennessee State University, where she majored in Business Administration. It was there that she met the true love of her life, Marcus Moye. Their love story blossomed, and they were united in holy matrimony on September 30, 2000.

Family First & An Entrepreneurial Fire

Nesha’s family was her greatest joy. From her union with Marcus came four beloved children: Eboni, MiJoya, Marcus, and Faith. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and an unmatched work ethic, she successfully built and operated two businesses one in healthcare and her pride and joy, GEMM Commercial Cleaning. Named using the initials of her husband and children, GEMM was a daily reminder of what mattered most to her—building a lasting legacy for the family she loved so deeply.

Living Life Out Loud

Nesha never met a stranger. Whether she was traveling the world with her beloved “Travel Crew,” spoiling her grandchildren, cooking for family and friends, shopping, or planning the next gathering, she poured love, compassion, laughter, and kindness into everyone she encountered. Her beautiful smile could light up any room, and her warm, loving personality made everyone feel welcome. She lived life to the fullest, loved without limits, and left an unforgettable mark on every heart she touched.

Loved Ones Welcoming Her Home

Nesha was preceded in death and reunited in heavenly rest with her loving grandparents, James and Dorothy Elliott; her sister-in-law, Tanesha Moye; and her cherished nephew, Donivan Barnes.

Carrying Her Light Forward

Nesha’s joyful legacy will live on through her devoted husband, Marcus Moye; her beloved children, Eboni, MiJoya (Christian), Marcus, and Faith; her mother, Dorothy Ann Bowling Shook, and father, Glen Wayne Hobson; her siblings, Minnisa Shook (Ashley), Monet Shook (and nieces Nubia and Zuri), Glen Wayne Latroy Hobson (Alicia) and ShaDonte Howse; her cherished grandchildren, Robert, Jamison, and Trelyn Berry.

Those held close to her Edna Beech, Donald Ray Beech, and Lawrence Thompson; Friends Who Became Family Candria & Mark Chapman, Natasha Buckingham, Crystal Churn, Valeria Frierson, Bridgette Davis, and Tuwanda Simmons.

Her beloved “Travel Crew,” Marcus & Crystal Hardison, George & Tarria McNeal, Fred & Pamela Taylor, and Chandra & Rommie Vasser; along with a host of other dear relatives, treasured friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever touched by her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.
