Gwendolyn Foye

Gwendolyn Louise Thomas-Foye was born on April 15, 1956, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Laymon and Lucille Thomas in Selma, Alabama.

Gwen was baptized and filled with the TRUE and LIVING HOLY GHOST in 1984 at Paradise Temple Pentecostal Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. From that day forward she lived a devoted, undeniable and committed life to the MOST HIGH GOD!! She accepted her calling to the ministry in 1989. After Gwen accepted her calling, ministry became her life. She was a living sacrifice and testimony unto the Most High God. Gwen was a teacher, preacher, counselor, and prayer warrior, who made sure her children had a strong foundation in God and themselves.

Gwen was married to Larry Wayne Foye, Sr. on February 14, 1976, until 2003. She is the mother of 2 daughters (Kenyata and Rovetta) and 1 son (Larry, Jr.).

In 2003 Gwen decided to go back and continue her education by adding on to her Associate degree and completing her Bachelor degree from the illustrious Tennessee State University. She went on to become a Licensed Social Worker for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services from 2005 to 2018 where she used her many gifts to help countless families in need.

She loved reading and studying the word of God and having long conversations with her sisters, brothers, and children.

Her cherished memories will live on with her children Kenyata Thomas, Rovetta Foye, Larry Foye, Jr. and bonus daughter Margaret “Mia” Foye, 11 Grandchildren Kristina (Joseph) Jernigan, Melvin Quentin Drake, Jr., Arron P. Drake, Zachery N. Drake, Benjermin A. Drake, Aneyah H. Foye, Ayalah S. Foye, Brooklyn Foye, Joseph A. Howse, Jr., Jasmyn N. Howse, Timothy J. Howse, 10 siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Laymon and Loucille Thomas and her sister Virgina Mayberry.
