Henry Leroy Jordan, Jr.

Henry Leroy Jordan, Jr. was born on April 4, 1971, in Joliet, Illinois, to Henry and Ann Jordan. After a brief illness, Henry peacefully fell asleep in death on August 25, 2026.Henry was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 1, 1986.

 Throughout the years, he attended the Melrose and North congregations, where he participated in Bible readings and worked alongside others in the door-to-door ministry. Henry wholeheartedly believed the truths he learned from the Bible and found great joy in sharing his faith and hope with others.  

Henry graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1990 and later worked at FedEx and Ingram Book Company. Outside of work, Henry had a great love for cars—a passion that earned him the affectionate nickname “G-ride” among some members of his family. He also loved writing songs and, over the years, built quite a collection of his own compositions. His creativity and love of music were an important part of who he was.And anyone who knew Henry knew that he loved good soul food—just about any kind! Whether enjoying a favorite dish or simply sharing a good meal with family and friends, good food was one of life’s simple pleasures that Henry truly appreciated. Henry will be remembered as a loving, kind, and peaceful man. His gentle spirit, sincere faith, and love for his family and friends touched the lives of those who knew him, and he will be sorely missed.

Henry leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Ann and Henry Jordan, Sr.; his brother, Derrick (Marie) Jordan; his sisters, Pauline Croft, Tiffany (Timothy) Wimberly, and Dana (Perry) Stokes; 21 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and dear friends.Though Henry’s family and friends deeply mourn his passing, they find comfort in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection and look forward with hope to the time when they can welcome him back and enjoy life together again.
