Herbert “Big Hand” Leslie Hunter

Mr. Herbert Leslie Hunter was born April 13, 1948, in Nashville, Tennessee to Irene Hunter. This productive life came to an end on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Herbert was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Public Schools. He was a hard-working man. He was employed by Madison Pools for over 31 years before he retired.

When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family and friends.

Herbert was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Elizabeth Hunter, great-grandchild, Kobe Hunter, sisters, Johnetta Smith and Alice Hunter and brother Andrew Hunter.

He leaves to celebrate his memories, daughters, Sonia (Calvin) Hunter and Katherine (Raymond) Overton, grandchildren, Deonte Hunter, Brandi Hogan, Deangelo Hogan, Ryan Hunter, Jason Overton and Ethan Overton, great-grandchildren, Deangelo Hogan, Jr., Zion Graham, Tamiya Hunter, Braeden Cotton, DeAaron Hogan and Nevaeh Hunter, siblings, Ronnie Hunter, Lois Hunter, Shirley Hunter, Sherman Hunter, Tony Honter, Charles (Theresa) Hunter as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
