Jacquelyn Denise Truitt-Sims

Jacquelyn Denise Truitt Sims was born on January 12, 1954, in Fort Myers, Florida to the union of Rachel Elizabeth Warren and Elijah Dennis Truitt. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Alive Hospice residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jacquelyn was educated in the Lee County Public School Systems. She graduated from Cypress Lake High School, class of 1971.

Jackie accepted Christ at an early age, and later united with the Center of Faith. She was employed with Matthew Walker as a Junior Accountant, until her retirement in 2008.

Jacquelyn affectionately known as Jackie, enjoyed photography. She loved taking pictures of family, church family and friends. Jackie loved watching westerns. Jackie was small but mighty. She did not mind telling you what she thought about you, even if it was not always appropriate. Jackie loved attending church. Jackie loved thrift shopping. Jackie also was a self-taught DIY enthusiast. Jackie was a wonderful Mom, Grandmother, and friend.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Warren, Elijah Truitt, sisters, Ella Renae Truitt, Patrica Ann (Buddy) Sebastian, brothers, Joseph Truitt, Elijah (Vicki) Truitt, cousin, Vurble Holder Jr., Vurble Jones, nephew, James Truitt, and niece, Tedra Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Detrick Truitt, Carlos Gupton, faithful daughter, Natarra Sims, devoted grandchildren, Keshaun Truitt Sr., Kenneth McGowan Jr., Keaiosha Anderson, , Alyssa Sims, grandchildren, Deidra Truitt, Christopher Haslett, George Foxx,  host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, MaKiah Darvin, Shauniya Truitt, De’Meir Sanders, Karter White, Promise Foster, Keshaun Truitt Jr.,  devoted sisters, Arizona (William) Crandall of Fayetteville, GA.,  Lois Smith of Tavares, FL., sister, Barbara (Charles) Pruitt, brother, James (Nicky) Green, devoted nephew, Peter Wiggins, a host of other nieces and nephews, devoted cousins, Charlotte Truitt of Atlanta GA., Rasa Truitt of Atlanta, GA., devoted granddaughter-in-law, Sherricka Darvin,  devoted caretaker, Tracy Childress, devoted best friend, Sherri (Princess) Lockridge, a host of other relatives and friends.
