James Bell Johnson

Mr. James Bell Johnson, Jr. was born August 25, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of James Bell Johnson, Sr. and Myrtle Beatrice Ford Johnson. James went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025, at his residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

James was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Public School System; he was a 1972 graduate of Pearl High School. After his graduation, he left Nashville to serve his country in the United State Army. He served from 1972 – 1976 and received an honorable discharge. After his service, he was employed for over 15 years with the VA Hospital and five years with the post office.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle B. Johnson, father, James Bell Johnson, Sr., brothers, Preston W. Johnson, Victor M. Johnson and Charlie R. Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters, Verna. M. Johnson Graves, Donna F. Perry, brothers, Darryle L. Johnson and David L. Johnson, devoted son, Cameron Townsend, several friends, Thomas James George Osborne, Jimmy Ray Harris, Vincent, Barbara Roberts, Stephne Lawrence, sisters-in-law, Marteen Johnson, Joy Johnson and LaShanda Johnson, nieces, nephews, Tamika Perry, John Perry, Donesha Perry, Tianna Perry, Donald White, Victor Johnson, Jr., Diwon Dillard, Alxis Johnson, Josiah Johnson, Victor Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Lee Norris Johnson, Tamara Jai Graves, Tamarice Graves, several other relatives and friends.
