James Johnson

James Kenneth Johnson was born October 7, 1973, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 3rd bundle of joy for his parents Gerald B and Jennifer Leatherwood Johnson

This peaceful and productive life came to an end on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

James was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Nashville Tennessee.

James attended Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools at Tom Joy Elementary, East Middle, Maplewood High where he was a member of the Half timers Dance Team and graduated from Stafford High in 1993.

James was intelligent, caring, loving and supportive of his family and friends, he had a great sense of humor and a very generous heart. He loved to spend time with his daughters and grandchildren and never lost his love of dancing. His self-taught love of electronics, auto mechanics and lawncare served his family and friends well over the years.

James was employed by Vanderbilt Medical Center and Centennial as a technician.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald B. Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving devoted mother, Jennifer Johnson, twin brother, Gerald Kendall, sisters, Lavonda Johnson and Barbara Davis, devoted children, Quiana Shaw and Sharonda and Kenndall Johnson, grandchildren, Mia Grace & Micah Zion Johnson, uncles Kelvin (Theresa) and Fredrick Johnson, Kenneth (Winfred) and Donald Leatherwood, aunts Patricia Jenkins, Stephanie Nance and Paulette (James) Groves, devoted nephews, Ra’Shad Hunter and Kyrie Johnson and devoted partner Stephanie Taylor and Family. A host of devoted cousins and friends.
