James “Roger” Wallace was born June 16, 1949 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to the union of Oliver Wallace Sr. and Ada Belle Wallace. He departed this life on Monday, September 18th, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
James affectionately called “Roger” by his friends and family was educated in the Davidson County Public School Systems. He attended Carter Lawrence Elementary, Rose Park Junior High School, and he graduated from Cameron High School, Class of 1968.
Roger was united in Holy Matrimony to Shirley E. Clark in 1973 and they have enjoyed 50 years of marriage.
Roger served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy from May 16, 1970 to March 2, 1973. He served in Vietnam and receiving an honorable discharge. After his service, he was employed with Genesco from 1973 to 1974, and with CSX from 1974 to 2009, when he retired.
Roger enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, family gatherings, and hanging out with friends. He also loved to travel, over the years he and Shirley went on many cruises to various destinations including Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, and the Caribbean Islands.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Ada Wallace, brother, Oliver Wallace Jr., and grandson, RaShawn Wallace.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Shirley Clark Wallace, son, Roger “Ramone” Wallace, Sisters, Lula Delores Bradley, Deborah Renee’ Wallace, brothers, George “Felix” Wallace, William (Kathy) Wallace, sisters-in-law, Carolyn Love, Brenda Buckner, brother-in-law, Leon Clark, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
