Jannie B. Lanier Drake was born October 8,1940 to Nashville, Tennessee to the late Tommie and Kate Lanier. She gained wings and entered eternal life on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Lanier Sr., Oscar Lanier Sr., Horace Lanier Sr.; devoted sister, Alma Lanier (Harold) Fuqua; and nephew, Gregory Lanier.
Jannie received her formal education in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System where she graduated from the Historic Cameron High School. She became a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under Pastor T. H, Ensley, where she was a member of the choir, and a member of the Missionary Society. She loved church where she met her dear friends, Helen Glenn and Lena Prence. She married Thomas Drake in 1989.
Jannie worked for many years and later retired from Bordeaux Hospital after 30 years of service where she enjoyed helping those in need. She loved color and showed it often in her dress, her home decor, and her yard. She loved gardening, sewing, making jewelry, and watching the Tennessee Titans on Sundays. Our sister, mother, grandmother was a fighter she fought long and hard to stay here with us, but GOD, decided it was his time to have her with him. We are thankful for the 81 years he allowed us to have her. And now we must say good-bye for now, we will see you again on the other side.
