Jannie Merrella Mayberry was born on May 31, 1954 in Arrington, Tennessee to the union of Julia Pearl (Dansby) Mayberry and James Wesley Mayberry. She departed this earthly on Monday, February 13, 2023.
Jannie was educated in the Williamson County Public School Systems. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Little Harpeth Primitive Baptist Church. She also attended Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church and later Beth-El Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Jimmy Overton.
Jannie was employed as a caregiver at Development Services of Dickson for many years, until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was well known for her hot water cornbread, puddin’, sauce, and goat. She was well loved and will be truly missed!
Jannie was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and James Mayberry, lifelong partner, Sharon Thomas Sparkman, sister, Elizabeth Christine Leach, and brothers, James Mayberry Sr., and Howard Mayberry.
She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Alexandria (Dekota)Sparkman- Dixon, Adrian Sparkman (Chris Claude), sons, Christopher (Shantese) Leach, Tommy Leach, granddaughters, LaQuanshanecia Leach, Charli Claude, Dream Dixon, grandsons Treydonte’ Hill, King Johnson, bonus children, Gabrielle Williams, Ann Shoulders, Shonnett Corlew (Kendell), and many foster children, bonus grandchildren, Quayshaun Talley (Ivory), Zhane Corlew, bonus great grandchildren, Noah Talley, Adonis Evans, Alaya Talley, devoted family and friends, Elaine Turner, Madeline Grigsby, Cheryl Cartwright- Lewis, Sandra Redmon, Linda Bennett, Walter Patton, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
