Jerimaine Norman, Jr.

June 1, 1996 — October 10, 2025

Jerimaine “JJ” Norman, Jr. was born on June 1, 1996, in Harlem, New York, to Lakisha Graham and the late Jerimaine Norman, Sr. At the age of five, JJ was lovingly embraced and raised by his devoted mother, Tremeta Joy Norman, who became his anchor, teacher, and greatest source of unconditional love.

JJ’s life was marked by strength, truth, and authenticity. He was known for his honesty, the kind that inspired growth and reflection, and his deep loyalty to family and friends. A natural protector and leader, JJ had a heart big enough to hold everyone close. His humor, resilience, and signature style made him unforgettable, and his love for his family shone through everything he did.

A proud graduate of Cane Ridge High School in Antioch, Tennessee, JJ continued his pursuit of knowledge and earned his Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Nashville State Community College. He was passionate about understanding people and systems, always striving to make a difference in his community and in the lives of those he loved.

After the loss of his father, JJ met life’s challenges with courage and grace far beyond his years. He carried his pain with quiet bravery and continued to bring joy, laughter, and stability to those around him. His presence was both powerful and comforting, the kind that made people feel safe and seen.

JJ leaves behind a family who will forever treasure his light. He is survived by his loving mother, Tremeta Joy Norman; his two sisters, Shadaya Mary-Vanessa Norman and Denise Gilmer; his two brothers, Jerimyah Norman and Kaleb Tucker; his grandfather, Emmett Lee Walker III; his uncle, Emmett Lee Walker IV; his uncle, Lawrence Norman; and his aunt, Latishia Norman; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

From his biological family, JJ is also remembered with love by his mother, Lakiesha Miles, and her husband; his brother, Jason Miles, Jr.; his sister, Briana Miles; his beloved aunt, Stephanie Graham; and cousins Shatia N. Graham, Reneia S. Ordonez, and Dontay Bullock; as well as a host of extended family who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He joins in eternal rest his father, Jerimaine Norman, Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Vanessa Norman; his maternal grandmother, Jannette Walker; and grandparents Stanley Emmanuel Sr. and Sylvia Graham.
