JoAnn Emma Berry was born July 14, 1941 in Davidson County, Tennessee to the late George L. and Pearl E. Floyd. She went home to be with the Lord August 5, 2024. She was educated in the Davidson County School System, graduating from Pearl High School. She was married to James W. Berry, Sr. on September 8, 1959.
She professed her hope in Christ and joined the Saint James A. M. E. Church, under the pastorate of the late Reverend Andrew White. She worked for many years in retail. She came into her own selling jewelry for Kay and Variety Jewelers. She had a deep love for orchids and spending time with the grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Jesse "Butch" Floyd, and George L. Floyd, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James W. Berry, Sr.; children, James W. Berry, Jr., Guerney Berry, Lisa Campbell, Vanessa Berry, and Harry Berry; grandchildren, James W. Berry, III, Yutodika Campbell, Jamal (Tyresha) Berry, Jermaine Berry, Autumn Campbell, Jermeliah Berry, Jerica Berry, Anthony Campbell, Emmanuel Campbell, Corey Berry, TiAsia Campbell, My ‘Tarion Harris; sisters, Earline Floyd, Nancy (Harry) Collier, Queen Floyd, Gloria (Dennis) Jackson, and Virgie Floyd-Stokes; brother, Ephriam Floyd a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
