John Wayne Utley

John Wayne Utley was born on July 15, 1944 in Springfield, Tennessee Robertson County. This life came to an end on Friday, June 12, 2026. John lived in Ridgetop, Tennessee and later relocated to St. Augustine, Florida at a young age.

He attended Excelsior Elementary and Middle School and graduated from Richard J. Murray High school 1961-1962.

John accepted Christ in his life and was a member of St. Paul AME Church in St. Augustine, Fla.

After High School John enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. While in the Coast Guard, he was trained as a Diesel Automotive Mechanic.

After his service with the Coast Guard, he received an honorable discharge. He enjoyed traveling and new adventures. He lived in a few different states and cities before making his home in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Lawrence Utley Walker and Father, Lee Utley, step- father, William Walker of Bronx, NY., brother, Sherman Lee Daniel Utley, nephew, Kirt Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memories; daughter, Shakila of Springfield, Tennessee, sister, Birdie Utley Davis of East Windsor, NJ. niece, Velvet V. Liverman of Lakeland, Fla., nephews, Curtis Wayne Davis Jr. of Maryland, Brian Davis (Bridgette), Burlington, NJ., Tyrone L. Davis (Jane) of Hightstown, NJ., Mark, Shawn, Phyllis, great nieces, Brielle Liverman, Lakeland, Fl., Avriana Davis and Azaria Davis, Hightstown, NJ., several other relatives and friends.
