Deacon Joyce Marie Jackson

Mrs. Joyce Marie Brooks-Jackson was born March 24, 1938 in Tillar Arkansas to Curtis Brooks and Rosa Lee Brooks. Joyce entered into eternity on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Trevecca Center for Rehabilitation in Nashville, Tennessee.

Joyce was educated in the Arkansas School System. She continued her education by attending Mason Business College of Business in Nashville, Tennessee.

Joyce accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was united with Jefferson Street Baptist Church. She was appointed as a Deacon and served with the Mission of the Church and the Nashville City District Association. She served as Bible Instructor for both.

Joyce was employed with Genesco, Inc. from the 1960’s and was blessed to retire in 2002. In her spare time, she enjoyed serving the Lord, spending time with family, teaching Sunday School, dancing, acting in plays and Thrifting.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Rosa Lee Brooks, siblings, Marguerite Penny, Etta Mae Brooks, Lawrence Brooks, James Brooks, Olivia Brooks, Reola Brooks.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted sons, Ira C. Brooks and Darrell D. Brooks, grandchildren, Tiffany (Darrell) Johnson, Robert Brooks, Darrell Brooks, Jr., great-grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Jada Johnson, Juliana Johnson, DeAndre’ Johnson, CamRon Johnson, extended family, Julia (Johnny) Johnson, The Starks Family, The Hood Family, The Shaw Family, The Garrett Family, close friends, Priscilla Hood, Margaret Beach, Addie Sloss and Savannah Darden.
