Judy Goode-Carney

June 7, 1948 — December 19, 2023

Judy was born in Toney, Alabama to the late Moses Goode Sr. and Ollie Mae Goode. Judy attended Council Training and she also furthered her education at Xavier University where she pursued her degree in nursing. She worked faithfully at Vanderbilt Hospital for 42 years. She was very family oriented, loving and compassionate. She had a deep passion for cooking home cooked meals. Everything had to be cooked from scratch and with lots of love. She specialized in homemade fried pies. Whether it was NFL or Collegiate football, Nascar, Street racing, or boxing, she was well versed and could have a conversation with anyone who would challenge her witty personality. She never met a stranger and if you were blessed to know her, you felt the love she possessed.

Judy confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Blackburn Chapel C.P.C. under the pastorage of Rev. McKinley Jones. She later moved her membership to Old Hickory Blvd. Church of Christ (576 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville, TN.) where she was faithful member until her health failed.
