Kathy Mae Bracey

Today is a homegoing celebration for Kathy Mae (Houston) Bracey, who departed this earthly life on Monday, June 2, 2025. Words can’t express the pain we feel for our beloved but are comforted knowing she is safe in the arms of God.

Kathy Mae, the daughter of the late Morris Houston, Sr. and Bessie Mae (Crook) Houston, was born on June 24, 1956, in Nashville, Tennessee and attended Metro Nashville Public Schools, where she later graduated from Stratford High School.

Kathy professed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Cowan Street Baptist Church under the leadership of the late J. H. Johnson.

Kathy has always been very independent and a hard worker. After graduating, she later started working for Metro Schools as an Environmental Specialist where she later became a supervisor. She spent over 30 years in this position before retiring.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Tracey Houston, loving brothers, James (Johnetta) Motley, Maurice (Emma) Houston; devoted sisters, Mikki (Ron) Fanning, Evelyn Ramsey, Constance Patton, Angela (James) Gilmore, Shena Palmer; devoted grandchildren, Kerry (Terri) James, Jr., Jasmine (Ryan) Hudson, Kristian (Pierre) McIntosh; 5 great grandchildren, Shaniah Holt, Karson Edmondson, Khari James, Kanan Hudson, Pierre McIntosh, Jr.; devoted aunt, Margaret (Eugene) Scruggs; devoted friend, the late Billy Thompson, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
