Kattie Carpenter was born December 8, 1944 in Memphis, TN to the late William Bill Fenner, Sr. and Izola Gray Fenner. She was one of 8 children. She was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. She loved her family and friends dearly. She worked for 10+ years at AVCO, 10+ years as a lab technician at Dupont and for 13+ years as the Assistant Manager at Manna Food Program. Kattie was educated in the Fayette County School System and graduated from Fayette High School. She continued her education with 2 years at Tennessee State University and then Nashville Tech where she received her Associates Degree in Computer Programming.
Sister Carpenter accepted Christ and was baptized at Liberty Branch Baptist Church (Moscow, TN). After moving to Nashville she joined the Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church and then later moved to Pentecostal Tabernacle (now know as Cathedral Of Praise Church of God in Christ). She married the love of her life, the late James A Carpenter in 1963 and to this union had 2 children.
In addition to her parents, Kattie was preceded in death by her husband: James A. Carpenter, Son, Joseph F. Carpenter, sisters: Shirley Lawrence (Sikeston, MO), Gloria Fenner Jones (Memphis, TN); Deloris Fenner Lots (Flint, MI); brothers: William Fenner, Jr. (Clarksville, TN).
She leaves to celebrate her transition, her daughter, Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Carpenter (Robert L. Chesterfield) (Houston, TX); Granddaughter, Shamiso L. Carpenter (Houston, TX); Grandson, James R. Carpenter (Houston, TX); Sisters: Ruth Fenner Boyd (Jamaica, New York); Joyce Zadriah Ali (Atlanta, GA); Brother: George (Monica) Fenner (Flint, MI); God-Sister, Maria Lloyd and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
