LaDeisha Kyson Thomas, 33, was born on March 15, 1990 in Nashville, Tennessee to loving parents
Steven Thomas and Carolyn McElrath. She is preceded in death by her father, Steven Thomas, her
unborn blessing, Angel Thomas, her grandmother, Patricia Faye Williamson Burks, her uncle Patrick
McElrath, and a host of loving great uncles and aunts.
LaDeisha was educated in the Metro Nashville public school system. She was the eldest of her mother’s
three children. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church with pastor Stevens presiding.
LaDeisha was a kindhearted, loving person who lent a helping hand and an open heart when needed.
Her beautiful smile and sense of humor would light up a room. She was well known throughout her
community for her kindness and friendliness. She was an extremely devoted mother to her five children
and eagerly anticipated the arrival of her sixth angel. She also recently gained the title of “aunt” and
loved the new additions to the family.
LaDeisha departed this life on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Southern Hills Hospital in Nashville. Fondly
remembering her light and life, her mother, Carolyn McElrath; siblings Jamhal Hudson and Queen
McElrath; Grandfather William (Bobbie) McElrath; great aunt Wanda Thomas; great uncles Lorenzo
Thomas, Dwain Williamson, David Williamson; cherished sons and daughter, Jevon Elder, Brandon Jones
Jr., Braxton Thomas, Queen Thomas, King Thomas; aunts Naomi Davis, Shirley (Michael) Counts, Ebony
Haynes; uncles William McElrath, Lavell McElrath, Arthur (Briana) Davis, Charlie McCord, Markeithio
(Kinyahta) McCord, Cornelius Haynes; niece and nephew Jamhal Keon Hudson Jr. and Jayilah Faye
Hudson and a host of cousins and dear family friends.
