Laura Yvonne Johnson

Ms. Laura was born August 8, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee to the amazing parents, Ruth Williams Johnson and Robert Johnson, Sr. Laura answered her call and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Eden Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Laura accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She attended McNary Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She really loved music, but she especially loved gospel music. She was educated in Nashville Davidson County Public Schools.

Laura was employed by Maxwell House Hotel for many years as a cook. Laura was so much fun to be around. Laura was a perfume connoisseur; she loved smelling good. She was always telling jokes and keeping everyone laughing. To know her was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and William Johnson, Sr., daughter, Sharon Johnson “Pooh”, grandson, Corey Johnson, sisters, Beverly Sneed (Calvin), Marsha Witherspoon (Frank) Barbara Brooks, “Hook”, brother, Timothy Johnson.

Those left to cherish her loving memories are her daughter, Benita and Veronica Johnson, she was a devoted grandmother to DeMarco, Renita (Jou) Smith, DaRante, Deangel, Rontarius, Brenda, Javonta, Terrell and Brianna Johnson, nine great-great-grandchildren, siblings, William, Jr., (Sandra) Johnson, Jane and (David) Noble, Amenthia (Calvin) Jackson, Shelia, Denning and Sharon (Marvin) Gleen, as well as a hos to nieces, nephews cousins and many friends.
