Lee Vern Turner, Sr. was born October 26, 1945 in Union City, Tennessee to the parents, George Turner and Louise Barham. This productive life came to an end on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Tristar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Lee accepted Christ in his life and was a devoted member of House of Blessings Ministry.
He attended Miles High School and later relocated to Toledo, Ohio where he continued his education by receiving his degree in computer science.
Lee Vern worked many jobs. His last career was as a security guard for Calvary Security.
Lee served his country in the United States Armed Forces branch of the Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and was stationed in Indonesia and Korea. He received several medals to include the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medial two Overseas Bars, Sharp Shooter Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, He received a Honorable discharge in 1975.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents George Turner and Alma Louise Barham, son, Lee Vern Turner, Jr., sister, Louise Estelle Barham, and grandparents, Cecil H. Turner and Willie Mae Robinson Turner.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Rev. Darrell Turner, Union City, Tn., Patrice (Eddie) Shields, Union City, Tn., Stephon (Yodit) Alston, Nashville, Tn., Delon (Tonya), Miami, Fl., Latrona Turner, Miami, Fl., David Turner, Nashville, Tn., stepdaughter, Mandi Scurry, Union City, Tn., step-son, Terrance Boykin, Kita Berry, Nashville, Tn., Tracy (Nina) Halliburton, California, Terry (Valerie) Reed, Michigan, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one unborn grandchild, one great-great-grandson, brothers, William “Bill” Bond, Indianapolis, Ind., James Edward Barham, Muncie, Ind., sister, Mary Louise Turner “Teresa”, Nashville, Tn. Lee also had several loved ones in his life to include, 1st wife, Barbara Gibson Turner (deceased), 2nd wife, Carol Ragin Turner, 3rd wife, Mamie Boykin Turner, dear friend, Katherine Harmon a host of other relatives and friends.
