Lessly Mayberry

Elder Lessly Mayberry peacefully passed from this life on Friday, February 10, 2023. He was 94 years old, He was born on January 10, 1929 to the late William and Ardellia Mayberry.

Lessly met the love of his life, Frances Carter and married on September 12, 1952. To this union 4 children were born, two preceded him in death. He and Frances shared 69 wonderful years of marriage.

Lessly was an Army Veteran and Retiree from Ford Motor Glass Plant in Nashville, Tennessee. The lessons and skills he acquired from his father, contributed to his becoming an exceptional employee.

He lived a life committed to God, his family, and dedication to his work. He was an Elder, a loving, husband, father, son, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was a Brick mason, Farmer, and Mechanic. Truly a Jack of all trades and a master of all. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and other outdoor activities. But, most would agree that his favorite pastime was storytelling, and what a wonderful storyteller he was.

In addition to his parents and two children, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward (Lurene), Howard; and sister, Ruby McClain.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Frances Mayberry; children, Randall (Selena) Mayberry, Kendall (Shari) Mayberry; grandchildren, Austin (Goma) Mayberry, Brandon Mayberry; great grandchildren, Alia Mayberry, Nathan Mayberry; brother, Richard (Barbara) Mayberry; sisters, Estella Nichols, Ollie Sweatt, Barbara Nicks of Starksville, MS., Doris Tann of Lyles, TN.; devoted friend, Jeffrey (Bo) Bowen; special niece, Amanda Dismukes; loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
