Lynda "Pinky" Anderson

Mrs. Lynda J. Anderson was born August 3, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the proud parents, Robert Porter Jones and Lena Jones Hodges. Lynda answered her call to come home to her heavenly father on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Lynda relocated to Tennessee. She was a graduate of White House High School in White House, Tennessee. She continued her education and attended Nashville Business College in Nashville, Tn.

Lynda married the love of his life Elder Mackie Wayne Anderson on October 26, 1983, they enjoyed over 40 years of love and laughter.

Lynda accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was united with St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church.

She was employed by W.T. Grant Department Store and Target Department Store for over 30 years as manager in Children, Women, Men, Boys and Shoe Departments.

Lynda enjoyed shopping, sewing and cooking; she received a degree in culinary arts in 2019. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Lena Jones Hodges and Robert Porter Jones, grandparents, Matthew & Katie Walker, and Luther and Beatrice Jones, granddaughter, Milan Daae Jones, great-granddaughters, Anjil Jeh’Kai Cockrill and Tahiri Jeh’Kai McCarty, great grandson, Kimari Jeh’Kai McCarty, brothers-in-law, Charles “Shorty” Anderson, William Henry Fletcher, David Lane and Johnny Mac Anderson, sister-in-law, and Phoebie Lane, nephew, Robert Allen Smith, aunt & uncle that she cherished as her 2nd parents, Nadine Young and Grover Cleveland Young, cousins, Billy Young, Betty Jo Young and Katherine Jones.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of over 46 years, Elder Mackie Wayne Anderson, daughters, Tamala (Reginald, Sr.) Goodner and Tawana (Stacy Mitchart) Jones, sons, Anthony Simmons and Bryant (Latoyia)Anderson, granddaughters: Torriane Goodner, Mackenzie Cockrill, Antika Brodie, Daija Anderson, Ariyanna Anderson & Chloe Anderson, grandsons: Christian Jones, Ryan Goodner, Reginald Goodner Jr, William “Davyion” Anderson, sister: Mother Beatrice Smith, god granddaughter, Tendai Neal, great granddaughters: Izorah Hunter, great grandsons: Minah McCarty, Jaden Brodie & Jayari Harvell, nephews she loved as sons: Elmo Yarbrough Jr. & Steven Yarbrough, devoted first cousins that she loved and considered her siblings: Dorothy Jones, Jewel (Roy) Meneese, Georgia (Charles) Alexander & Luther (Geneva) Young, brother-in-law, Jason Anderson, sisters-in-law, Maxine Anderson and Mable Fletcher, goddaughters: Tarika Neal & Denise Slaughter, loving best friends of over 50 years: Diane Murphy & Patricia “Pat” Massey and a host of nieces, nephews & work family church members and friends that she loved beyond words.
