Ms. Lottie Jenette Cross Hammonds was born to the late Stanley Cross & Effie Lee Grayson on April 27, 1924 in Madison County, Alabama. The Lord called her into his loving arms as she departed this life on earth, No one heard the door that opened and took her beyond our call, for it was as soft as the dropping of a rose petal; but the Lord left her memory to linger with us like the fragrance of a rose, until our own life's door shall close.
She joined church at an early age. She was a mother of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was also a choir member & cook in the church; during her many years of humble & devoted service in her church. She was a steadfast & faithful fried throughout her life; always showing & giving love to all she came in contact with.
In her community she worked at Medical Center Hospital for 5 years. She was joined in Holy matrimony to the late Mr. Shelvy Hammonds. Ms. Lottie Jenette Hammonds had one son the late Mr. George "Butch" Cross. Also preceded her in death: six brothers & eight sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Two Grandsons Mr. Christopher (Trice) Bone & Julius Cawthorne; One great-grandson Christopher "CJ" Bone: One loving sister-in-love Janice Fite-Cross; Two nieces Cassandra Fite & Carlette Cross; Two nephews Louis Cross & Robert Joe Crutcher: One devoted friend & caregiver Mr. Marvin Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives & friends.
