MacQuavis Delane Sims

MacQuavis Delane Sims (MAC) quietly slipped away on July 19, 2025. He was born on November 21, 1981 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Cassandra Sims-Horton (Sandra); Also preceded in death by his grandmother’s, Margaret Sims and Marylouise Lane; step-father, Howard Horton, Sr; Uncle James Sims, Sr (Poncho).

MacQuavis was United with the St. Anselms' Episcopal Church. He attended school within the Metro Davidson County School System. Mac has worked numerous jobs including Construction, dishwashing at multiple Restaurants, and Janitorial services for Office Cleaning Businesses, until his health started to fail.

MacQuavis married the love of his life Erica Starnes-Sims on May 25, 2014 and to this Union three daughters were born. Mac even as a child, never met a stranger, always greeting people with a smile and a big hug no matter who it was. He loved watching Football and Basketball games with friends and family especially with his uncle Carlos which he has done all his life. Grilling was something he loved to do and that would turn into a neighborhood feast because he knew everybody in North Nashville. He loved his aunt Pansy/Honey always saying when he walked in the door "HONEY I'M HOME" then as usual went straight to the refrigerator because he loved to eat!!(This will forever be missed). MacQuavis was a man that only wanted to be loved and accepted as he was.

He leaves to cherish his memories wife; Erica Starnes-Sims, Daughters; Macquasia and Macquala Sims, Jaynia and Porsha Starnes, Sons; D'monta, Jerry, and Dandrea Starnes, Grandchildren; Daliyah, Dayonna, and Lashawn, Jashawn Starnes, Sister; Cinandre (Cece) Horton-Jackson (Rashawn), brother;

Howard Horton, aunts; Pansy Holder (Carlos); Eula Sims, and Angelia Sims-Holman, Father; Mr. Mac Cole, Godmother; Carolyn Waggner, Devoted friends; Jeremey Haynes (Worm), Kenneth Pullins (Goose), Terrance Howse, Benjamin Miles, Damonte Sutton, Alonzo Gross, Justin Green, And a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, other family and friends.
