Mamie Irene McCoy Braden was born May 28, 1938, to the parents Felix McCoy and Goldie Cannon McCoy in Lynnville, Tennessee. This sweet and productive life came to an end on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mamie was educated in Giles County Public Schools, graduating from Bridgeforth High School in Pulaski, Tennessee. She was baptized in the Church of Christ and was currently a member of Northside Church of Christ.
Mamie was employed by Ford Glass Plant for over 22 years, she also worked as a Nurse Technician with St. Thomas and Southern Hills Hospitals.
When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening flowers, encouraging others and spending time with her precious family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Goldie McCoy.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter, Phaitheon Braden Walker, sons, James (Jeanne) Braden, Jr., David (Shellie) Braden, Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Chaz C. Braden, Courtney R. Braden, Trey A. Braden, Jasmine N. Hill, Nykolas M. Braden, Nekhi S. Braden, Curtis J. Braden, Kenley R. Braden, and Emery K. Braden, two great grandchildren, Castle R. Balfour and Brylee N. Braden, sisters, Gladys M. Braden and Biddie L. Alexander along with a host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
