First Lady Margaret Johnson

Margaret M. Johnson was born January 7, 1950 in Tuscaloosa, AL to Elizabeth and Nathaniel Murphy. She answered her call and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee

Margaret was educated in the public school system in Tuscaloosa, AL. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was currently united with Shining Light Holiness Church where she served as First Lady until her death.

She was employed by Northern Telecom and CTDI for many years. In 1994 she married Pastor Charles Johnson, they enjoyed much love, laughter and ministry. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and preaching. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel and Elizabeth Murphy, brothers Nathaniel Jolly, Curtis Murphy and sister Barbara Murphy.

Those left to cherish Margaret's sweet memories are her loving and devoted husband of 31 years Pastor Charles H. Johnson Sr. devoted son, Eddie Murphy Sr.,  grandson, Eddie (Lily) Murphy Jr. 6 great grandchildren, devoted sister, Oreva (Kenneth) Keeling, devoted nephew, Nathaniel Sparks, devoted niece, Tameka (Charles) Gibson, special friend, Annie Allison, spiritual daughter, Brenda Lawrence as well as a  host of nieces, nephews and friends.
